to Present “Race to Anyplace”
to Raise Funds for Cancer Research

ALISO VIEJO, CALIF., April 20, 2009 – The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Orange County/Inland Empire Chapter (LLS) is pleased to present its inaugural Race To Anyplace fundraising event on Saturday, May 23, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Renaissance Club Sport in Aliso Viejo. The event features teams from local companies that sign up for the chance to out-pedal one another to raise funds for cancer research.
“As companies are seeking innovative ways to promote health and wellness among their employees, along with an opportunity to build team spirit and morale, the Race To Anyplace offers all of that plus a way of helping make a difference to thousands of patients battling blood cancers,” commented Janine Ingram, LLS’ Executive Director.
Race To Anyplace is a stationary/spin bike race, featuring teams and individuals riding stationary bikes in heats of six hours. Teams compete with one another for the most mileage in six hours and the most funds raised. Fundraising can be accomplished through online donations or through sponsorships from local companies. Prizes are offered for teams recording the highest mileage and for the highest fundraising. Funds raised support lifesaving blood cancer research and help patients live better, longer lives.
Ingram added, “Cancer patients and their families need your stamina and dedication to help find cures for leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma.”
For additional information, please contact: Heidi de Leon, (714) 881-0610, ext. 332 or Heidi.Deleon@lls.org. For additional event information, please visit www.racetoanyplace.org/ocie.
