STANDUP FOR KIDS, SAN CLEMENTE ART FAIR
HOST DAY OF SUNSHINE, ART AND AWARENESS
SAN CLEMENTE, Calif.-To raise awareness about homelessness among children and teens in OrangeCounty, StandUp For Kids will host a booth at this month’s San Clemente Art Fair on Sunday, June 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Avenida Del Mar in San Clemente. In addition to vital information about youth homelessness, the organization’s booth will provide visitors with StandUp For Kids merchandise and a chance to win prizes from local vendors. Volunteers will also be collecting donations of basic necessities for homeless youth.
A local tradition, the San Clemente Art Fair takes place on the first Sunday of every month except January. The fair showcases a wide variety of work from more than 60 vendors, including fine art, jewelry, ceramics, woodwork, hand-made clothing, metals, photography, and hand-blown glass items. StandUp For Kids participates in the fair for the first time this month, in hope of raising local awareness about what has become an epidemic in Orange County.
The non-profit organization was founded in 1990, and works to improve the lives of homeless and at-risk youth across the country by providing them with resources to transition from lives on the street to lives of opportunity and stability. Locally, StandUp For Kids reaches out to the more than 16,000 Orange County children and teens who are currently struggling to survive on the street.
StandUp For Kids invites the community to soak up the sun and enjoy beautiful artwork, while learning more about an increasingly important issue in OrangeCounty. Art fair patrons can pick up water bottles, wristbands and eco shopping bags at the StandUp For Kids booth, and enter for a chance to win prizes from local stores.
Visitors are encouraged to bring items such as backpacks and grocery gift cards for donation. For more information, contact Sally Keefer at (949) 412-5444, or visit StandUpForKids.org.
