San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®), one of California’s largest credit unions, is supporting Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego as a sponsor of the Rady Children’s Dream Big 5k Walk at San Diego Surf Cup Sports Park in Del Mar, and CHOC Children’s CHOC Walk in the Park at Disneyland®. SDCCU’s support includes a fundraising campaign at all SDCCU branch locations throughout Southern California.
The Rady Children’s Dream Big 5k Walk at San Diego Surf Cup Sports Park, Del Mar will take place on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at 7:30 a.m. The CHOC Children’s CHOC Walk in the Park at Disneyland is on Sunday, August 11, 2019 time TBD. SDCCU will collect donations for both hospitals by selling special paper sailboats at SDCCU branches through May 31, 2019, for Rady Children’s and August 11, 2019, for CHOC.

The Rady Children’s Dream Big 5k Walk is a true 5k (3.1 miles) through a beautiful coastal trail that has moderate terrain surfaces. There is also a shorter ADA-friendly course which is 1.1 miles and is contained within the park on grass and dirt. Both routes are a closed-loop course and finish where they start. The CHOC Walk in the Park at Disneyland is also a 5k walk that starts before the park opens to the public on Main Street in Disneyland and then loops around through California Adventures. Started in 2002, the CHOC Walk attracts about 15,000 walkers each year and has raised over $35 million for CHOC Children’s and CHOC at Mission Hospital.
