VIVA LA MÚSICA KICKS OFF: Latin flavor sizzles with some of the hottest entertainment as Viva La Música returns at SeaWorld, weekends May 5–May 20. The concert series features live performances from award-winning Latin artists, plus delicious Hispanic food, and the fiery flair of Hispanic heritage. Guests will experience the pulsating sounds of the lively Latin beats, which will include Latin pop, rock, salsa and mariachi. The red-hot headliners are Roberto Tapia, May 5; Los Tigres Del Norte, May 6; Chino y Nacho, May 12; Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán, May 13; Tito El Bambino, May 19; Espinoza Paz, May 20. Two shows will be offered at 4 and 6:30 p.m. Viva La Música is included with park admission (wristbands will be distributed for concert seating, which is on a first-come, first-served basis). MOTHER’S DAY BRUNCH WITH SHAMU: Guests can spend the holiday feeling relaxed and pampered while dining poolside at SeaWorld’s Mother’s Day Brunch with Shamu. Experience the magical bond between SeaWorld’s killer whales and their young while enjoying fresh, delicious food. This special brunch is $55 for ages 10 and older and $27 for ages 3–9 (excluding tax, gratuity and park admission). The event takes place on Mother’s Day, May 13, with seatings at 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Space is limited and reservations are required. ‘MANTA’ GRAND OPENING: On May 26 SeaWorld San Diego will unveil its new launch coaster, Manta — a new mega-attraction that will seamlessly transition guests from the awe of watching rays in underwater flight … into the sensation of actually being one. Manta also will feature a unique “launch station” where the passengers will start the ride enclosed in a launch tunnel with larger-than-life images of rays projected on a 270-degree enveloping screen. This state-of-the-art projection system will be the first of its kind in the United States. Riders and non-riders alike will enjoy the graceful beauty of bat rays and fishes that they can touch and feed. The first 4,500 riders in attendance on May 26 will receive Manta sunglasses.
SUMMER NIGHTS AT SEAWORLD: During Summer Nights at SeaWorld, guests can enjoy all their favorite SeaWorld attractions during the day, then hang out for a whole new park after dark with fireworks that light up the sky and special nighttime animal shows including the nighttime killer whale rock ’n’ roll show, “Shamu Rocks” and the hilarious “Sea Lions Tonite” sea lion and otter show. As part of Summer Nights, kids of all ages can dance the night away at SeaWorld’s Club Atlantis Presented by Coca-Cola, Thursdays through Sundays, June 15 to Aug. 12. Channel 933’s DJ Marc Thrasher keeps the party going from 7 to 10 p.m. with dance team performances, nightly Coca-Cola dance-offs, giveaways and plenty of time to just dance, dance, dance! Summer Nights at SeaWorld take place on the following dates: May 26–28; June 2–3; June 9–10; June 16–Aug. 19; Aug. 25–26; and Sept. 1–3, 2012.
