SeaWorld San Diego: Interstate 5, exit SeaWorld Drive. SeaWorld® will celebrate the Fourth of July with Sea to Shining Sea 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular, an extended display (17 minutes) of fireworks, at 10:10 p.m. July 4, 2014 (the park will be open until midnight on July 4).
Summer Nights (select dates through Sept. 1) continues with extended park hours, fireworks and special nighttime animal shows, including SeaWorld’s newest nighttime killer whale show, Shamu’s Celebration: Light Up The Night, and the hilarious Sea Lions Tonite sea lion and otter show.
Shamu’s Celebration: Light Up The Night is a DJ-hosted show featuring colorful splashes, high-energy music and sea-inspired illuminations that will have the entire family dancing.
During the day, the popular acrobatic odyssey on the bay, Cirque de la Mer, returns to Cirque Stadium. Plus, kids of all ages can enjoy dancing, dance team performances, dance lessons and more at SeaWorld’s Club Atlantis Presented by Coca-Cola, Thursdays through Sundays, through Aug. 10. SeaWorld’s 50th Celebration featuring a Sea of Surprises™ kicked off in March and continues through September 2015 at all three SeaWorld® parks.
Guests will enjoy new interactive experiences, shows and pathway performances, even more up-close animal encounters throughout the park and the SeaWorld Surprise Squad treating them with prizes every day. Plus, SeaWorld San Diego’s new arrival experience, Explorer’s Reef™, is where guests pass beneath an iconic and stunning wave structure and get immersed in a coral reef that gives them the feeling of walking on the bottom of the ocean.
In this underwater oasis, they experience the beauty and wonder of incredible marine animals through up-close interactions with shark pups, rays, horseshoe crabs and cleaner fish in four new state-of-the-art freshwater and saltwater touch pools. Manta® features a double-launch coaster and 100,000-gallon aquarium with bat rays and other marine-life. Turtle Reef is an attraction featuring a 280,000-gallon turtle aquarium, interactive game, touch-screen turtle map and ride. SeaWorld’s Shamu show One Ocean®, features the park’s majestic killer whales as ambassadors of the sea, and the ocean as the center of our natural world. Blue Horizons® is a spectacular show featuring energetic bottlenose dolphins, magnificent pilot whales, a colorful array of exotic birds and amazing human performers.
The 190-acre marine-life park features thousands of fascinating mammals, fishes, reptiles and birds including; nearly a dozen species of sharks at the Shark Encounter®; more than 350 penguins representing five species at the Penguin Encounter®; and polar bears, beluga whales and walruses at Wild Arctic.
Other attractions include Sea Lions LIVE, a hilarious new sketch-based comedy show starring Clyde® and Seamore®; Sesame Street® Bay of Play®, a whimsical play area for kids with family-friendly rides, Sesame Street character meet-and-greets and photo opportunities; Journey to Atlantis®, a wet and wild water coaster; Pets Rule!® — a zany show where clever canines, curious cats and unpredictable pigs take charge and show humans who’s the boss; Shipwreck Rapids® water raft ride; spectacular animal shows, interactive attractions, aquariums, rides and dining facilities.
