The Mission Viejo/Saddleback Valley Elks Lodge #2444 was once again decked out in a Valentine color scheme for the yearly dance that was sponsored by the Elks, in cooperation with the Mission Viejo Norman Murray Center. Greeting the 101 attendees were Elk Barbara King and Jan Brown, Senior Community Services Leader.
Wayne Pulcini provided a variety of music for the enjoyment of all attendees, dancers, and listeners. Red and pink hearts adorned the walls. The tables were covered with white cloths and black toppers. Centerpieces were red sprays placed on mirrors. To add to the festive look, red rose petals and silver, and red candies were strewn on the tabletops.
A delicious Italian dinner was served, including salad, spaghetti and meatballs, and garlic bread. For dessert, brownies topped with Cool Whip and Maraschino cherries were served. The kitchen manager Pam Mackey and her crew; Steve Cagnacci, Kevin Lindley, and Dennis Boelts did a great job! Pamela Jacobs stood in as the event photographer.
The event was chaired by Lecturing Knight Lane Keran. Special thanks to co-chair event leaders Sandy and Jack Jacobs who were instrumental in the success of this event and in providing this article. Our other great volunteers included; Laura Lumley, Gail Patti, Barbara Coppola, Marshall Coppola, Lyla Coppola, Enzo Coppola, Kelly Keran, Amy Keran, Kim Maestri, Cindy Wooten, Sheryn Howlett, and our clean-up crew!
Also volunteering from Boy Scout Troop 695 were Sean Enomoto and Ian Mavcikis, and from Girl Scout Troop 2518, Shelley Enomoto and Sarah Enomoto. Marliyn Kezmoh won the beautiful raffle basket. Carol Bryan and Margie Schickly each won a beautiful heart shaped Valentine decoration made by lodge member Bob Lebsack.

Many thanks to our guests, our friends from the Norman Murray Center, our entertainment, and all our volunteers who contributed in making this such an outstanding event!
