Seniors Enjoy the Elks Valentine’s Day Dance

The  Mission Viejo, Saddleback Valley Elks Senior Dinner Dance was held on February 9th. Many members and non-members brought their sweethearts all dressed up in pink, red and black and danced to the fantastic tunes of Wayne Pulcini. The special event for seniors is held twice a year and is sponsored by the Elks Charity Bingo Committee in cooperation with the Norman Murray Senior Center and the city of Mission Viejo.

Guests are asked to make a very reasonable $10 donation to the Murray Senior Center for a fun afternoon of dining and dancing at the Elks Lodge. Senior Center Recreation Coordinator Linda Teichmann was on hand to greet guests and assist Event Chairwoman Kimberly Maestri with the gift basket raffle. Dinner was a delicious lasagna served with a garden salad, garlic bread and 2 lovely Valentine’s Day cakes.

Event Chairwoman Kimberly Maestri thanked the volunteer kitchen staff for cooking-up such a wonderful dinner and gave a huge shot-out and thank you to the Lodge’s Antlers Club youngsters who helped with serving meals. Maestri also thanked the others who helped decorate and clean up after the fun was over. The next Senior Dinner Dance will be in October. Tickets will go on sale at the Murray Senior Center 2 weeks before the event.

In other Elks news, the Lodge announced it’s next American Red Cross Blood Drive which will take place at the Elks Lodge 25092 Marguerite from noon to 6:pm on Monday, Feb 17th. The public is invited to participate in this important event. Reservations can be made by calling the Lodge @ 949 830-3557, however, walk-ins are welcome.

The Mission Viejo / Saddleback Valley Lodge is celebrating 50 years of service to the Saddleback Valley Communities.  It is one of 8 lodges in the Orange Coast District of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (BPOE) whose headquarters is in Chicago, Illinois.  The BPOE is a charitable organization with a 151-year history of giving. “Elks Care Elks Share”.
