SENIORS ROCK AWAY AT ELKS DINNER DANCE

Date:

Event Chairman Lecturing Knight Lane Keran welcomed the visiting seniors to the Mission Viejo, Saddleback Valley October Senior’s Dinner Dance. The event was the second of the year held in cooperation with the Norman P. Murray Senior Center. Co-chairs Jack and Sandy Jacobs stepped up to assist in coordinating the event. Kitchen Manager Pam Mackey, Cooking Crew Chief Kevin Lindley, and Trustee Vicky Long prepared a delicious meal of Chicken Cordon Bleu, rice, green beans, and a fresh green salad. Dessert was pumpkin pie topped with whipped cream. Lodge sponsored Boy Scout Troop #603 served the meal. Following the color scheme of Fall colors, gold tablecloths with rust-colored toppers, tables were adorned with mirrors that reflected the Fall leaf centerpieces loaned by Member Marsha Berman and her Aunt Aloha. Event Chairman Lane Keran said of the event, “This dinner dance is not totally free for the seniors, but they get a real bargain for dinner and dancing for only $10.00. We’re thankful to our Lodge Charity Committee for subsidizing the cost. I’m sure we’ll be sold out for the next one in February.” Funds raised by the event were earmarked for the Elks Handicapped Children’s Fund.
