Early Assessment Program (EAP)
The essay portion of the Early Assessment of Readiness for English will be administered to juniors on Monday, March 18, 2013. All juniors are required to take the EAP test.
Juniors who plan to take AP Literature next year must have a passing score on the EAP test. An additional 15 multiple choice questions will be administered over a 30-minute period during CST testing in April as part of the second half of the EAP test.
The Early Assessment Program (EAP) is designed to determine whether or not your child will need to take remedial course work during the first year of study in college at a CSU campus (and some community colleges). The EAP program is not used with regard to students applying to the University of California (UC) system. If your child does well on the EAP exam in English and mathematics, he/she may earn exemption from the English and Mathematics placement tests required of all entering CSU freshmen (and some community colleges).
