The Southern California Chapter of the Society for Advancement of Management (SAM) announced the appointment of Mr. Des Colleran as it’s new President.
Mr. Colleran has lived in Aliso Viejo and the Southern California area for more than forty years. He is active as a Business Development and Management Consultant while also serving as Senior Consultant with a career marketing organization in Newport Beach.
Colleran is a long time member of SAM and a Director on the International Board of Directors of the Society.
For several years he served as a Business/ Financial Analyst with an International Management Consulting group. His role was to propose and structure a business development or recovery strategy for failing businesses.
Early on in his career he was Vice Principal of one of the largest Catholic High schools west of Chicago. From there he became Director of Programs at the Educator Training Center, a division of the Institute for Reality Therapy.
He has long experience in the non-profit arena having served as Executive Director of the largest pro family and marriage organization in the United States. With the establishment of the Catholic School Board in Orange County he was elected as the first chairman. Recently he was appointed as a Director of the Golden Gate Foundation, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping learning disadvantaged students.
One of his first tasks as SAM Chapter President will be to host the September 10 open meeting on Financial Planning. SAM is an organization of professionals and provides a splendid opportunity for networking and learning from others. The public is invited but reservations are required (714) 637-3236.
