OPENS DROP-IN CENTER FOR ORANGE COUNTY YOUTH
Who: STANDUP FOR KIDS Orange County (SUFK OC), the non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of homeless and at-risk youth, teams up with Quakes Baseball Academy to launch SUFK OC’s first drop-in center.
What: SUFK OC will host an open house to unveil its new drop-in center, designed to help keep kids off the streets. The drop-in center will be a safe place for homeless, street and at-risk youth between the ages of 13-24 to connect with caring adults, have their basic needs met and receive educational and vocational training. This facility will also be used for volunteer training, workshops, special events and educational seminars.

When: Sunday, April 17 from, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Visuals: There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. to officially open the facility to kids in need. The drop-in center will then be accessible to children in need for use of the showers, gym, yoga room, tv room, and computer room.
Why: To raise awareness among the local community regarding the prevalence of homelessness among Orange County youth and to celebrate this gigantic step forward in SUFK OC’s mission to help keep kids off the streets.
