Having Donated Over $10 Million To Southern California Charities Since 1997, The Four-Day Excursion To Los Cabos, Mexico Promises Another Unforgettable Experience This Summer
TUSTIN, Calif. – The Stars & Stripes Fishing, Golf & Music Festival announced today its 2010 list of charitable recipients and a number of new exciting changes to its annual event, which will be held June 24-27, 2010 at the Hilton Los Cabos Beach and Golf Resort. The Stars and Stripes Tournament has raised more than $10 million over 13 years, including more than $5 million over the past three years alone.
This year the event will create once in a lifetime opportunities and raise money for the following five children’s charities: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County, Orangewood Children’s Foundation, Boy Scouts of America Los Angeles Council, Miracles for Kids and Mexico’s Green Scholarship Program.
“We’re thrilled to once again partner with the Stars & Stripes Fishing, Golf and Music Festival,” remarked Keith Rhodes, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County. “The proceeds raised from this event will help us match the 200 children on our waiting list with positive mentors and provide professional support to the over 1,250 children that are currently matched to a Big Brother or Big Sister. We’re grateful to all who make this special event possible.”
Two new golf courses will make their Stars and Stripes Tournament debut this year. Club Campestre features a spectacular 18-hole Nicklaus Design golf course with breathtaking landscape views of the ocean, mountains and desert overlooking the Sea of Cortez while Diamante is a Davis Love III designed course perfectly situated along the Pacific Coast. In addition, a more extensive Camp Stars and Stripes will be offered for younger members attending in 2010.
Event packages boast private airfare from San Diego or Los Angeles, lodging, food & beverage and two days of fishing in Baja’s world-famous Sea of Cortez or golf at Club Campestre and Diamante all for one fixed participant price. Three night’s of live performances as well as three themed dinners are included. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy complimentary Wave Runners along the beach or cocktails by the pool from the daily open bar.

Started in 1996 by Dick Gebhard, then a board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County, Stars and Stripes has grown from a new idea by a creative visionary, to one of the most significant and innovative charity fundraisers in the country.
