Student Art Exhibition 2013 Awards
Mission Viejo, CA – Saddleback College Art Gallery Director Bob Rickerson is pleased to announce the winners of the Student Art Exhibition held in the Saddleback College Art Gallery on May 6th-16th. Students received their awards at an artists’ reception and awards ceremony on May 14th. With the exception of the President’s and Dean’s Choice Awards, Saddleback College students selected the award winners through a voting process conducted in the gallery during the exhibition. Over 300 students cast their vote in the categories of painting, printmaking, drawing, ceramics, sculpture, photography and jewelry.
Tod Burnett, President of Saddleback College, stated “Antoinette Barnum’s oil and acrylic painting California Landscape is an outstanding piece, but that didn’t make it any less difficult to designate a President’s Choice winner as every piece deserves recognition. This year’s exhibition presented an impressive sample of the amazing talent we have at Saddleback College.”
Bart McHenry, Dean of Fine arts and Media Technology, stated, “The outstanding art at this year’s Student Art Exhibition and the large attendance at the awards ceremony proves once again that our students are talented and appreciated. I would also like to commend the hardworking and dedicated faculty, who are also very proud of their exceptional students.”
Congratulations to the winners:
