Superintendent Joseph M. Farley, Ed.D., whose focus on instruction has reestablished Capistrano Unified School District (CUSD) as one of the top school districts in the state, announced that he will retire at the end of the 2013-2014 school year. Dr. Farley, 63, took the office in 2010. He is the ninth superintendent in the District’s 49-year history and, when hired, was the sixth person to hold the position in a four-year span. His last day will be June 30, 2014. A plan to recruit his successor will be announced in January. Post retirement, Dr. Farley has announced plans to work with Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates, an executive search and consulting firm that works with school districts across the country. |
