During the month of April, Mayors all across Southern California will square off to see whose city can be the most “water wise.”
The competition sponsored by the Wyland Foundation is designed to encourage residents to be come more proactive in reducing water waste and pollution. The pledge drive takes place from April 1-30 and not only helps cities meet conservation goals, but also gives residents who make pledges, a chance to win more than $15,000 in prizes, including tickets to Disneyland Resort and Parks, Los Angeles Angels baseball games and the Aquarium of the Pacific. “Water conservation is important to all of us and I am confident that Laguna Niguel residents will do very well in this competition.” said Mayor Gary Capata. By clicking on the link below, residents can make a series of pledges to reduce their impact on the environment. These pledges add up to big money savings and substantial reductions in wate waste and pollution. A daily “Top Ten” list will be published online so residents can follow along and encourage their friends, families and neighbors to join in. The City with the highest percentage of residents and businesses who make pledges wins!
