Saturday, March 4th was a beautiful day for The Patriot’s Day Parade and the Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach celebrated another year of participating in the walk dedicated to our service men and women. As The Club marched along Park Ave, eyes squinting and smiles gleaming, over 50 club kids and staff members waved banners and wore signs representing the club they love.
The Even Start Preschool, TLC and Main Branch members marched along smiling, waving and chanting, “Boys and Girls Club!” Tons of Lagunans waved from the sidewalks with support and admiration in their eyes. Every spectator has a connection to The Club in some fashion; past club alumni, parents of the club, volunteers of the club and supporters of the club. All remember the impact The Club had on their lives in one way or another as the new batch of kids walked by.
In 2010 the Club served over 1,500 young people by providing quality programs designed to enable them to reach their full potential as healthy, caring, and productive citizens. Pamela Estes, Executive Director for the Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach said, “We are so grateful to be part of such a wonderful community and would like to thank everyone for their support and dedication to our kids.” The Patriots Day Parade was a wonderful way to celebrate 59 years of being the “Positive Place for ALL Kids” yesterday, today and tomorrow!
