PUBLIC NOTICE CITY OF LAGUNA NIGUEL
NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT(CDBG)
FUNDS FOR FISCAL YEAR (FY) 2013/2014
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Laguna Niguel is currently accepting applications for eligible CDBG funded projects or services for the next Fiscal Year, July 1, 2013through June 30, 2014.
PROPOSAL: The primary objective of the Federal Housing and Urban Development Department’s (HUD) CDBG program is “the development of viable urban communities by providing decent housing, a suitable environment and expanding economic opportunities principally for persons of low and moderate income.”
The City of Laguna Niguel anticipates receiving approximately $300,000 from HUD, of which 15 percent or approximately $45,000 will be granted to applicants providing eligible social service projects and programs. The City is requesting proposals from interested, tax-exempt California non-profit organizations that provide eligible CDBG services and/or projects benefiting the residents of Laguna Niguel.
All eligible applications will be reviewed by an Ad-Hoc Committee of the City Council. This committee will make recommendations to the City Council on funding allocations to service providers. The City Council will hold a public hearing at a later date to review the Ad-Hocrecommendations and make the final award determinations.
Eligible service providers must complete an application package. Applications are available on the City’s Website www.CityOfLagunaNiguel.org or at the City of Laguna Niguel,Community Development Department, 30111 Crown Valley Pkwy, Laguna Niguel.
Applications will be accepted from January 3, 2013 until 5:00 P.M. on Friday, February 8,2013 at the City of Laguna Niguel offices.
Applications may not be sent by facsimile and noextension of the deadline will be granted.
Applications may be photocopied, but must be signedby the official authorized to act on behalf of the applicant.
