City of Aliso Viejo launches new Facebook page

The city of Aliso Viejo has launched its new Facebook page athttps://www.facebook.com/CityOfAlisoViejo.

The page will serve as a source for residents, business owners and visitors to find out about upcoming events, updates and more. The page features photos and a multitude of information and is designed to increase communication, promote business development and retention and tourism. Businesses and organizations are encouraged to “like” the city and share their events and news.

The Facebook page complements the city’s Twitter – launched in 2009 – newly revamped website at www.cityofalisoviejo.com, recently launched iApp, and longtime eNews as a way to get faster communication and real-time news and information to the community.

Each year, the city contributes partial funding for selected community service programs and activities by not-for-profit organizations that provide valuable services to the community. The City Council is expected to consider and approve the requests in the spring.

Community Assistance Grant Funding applications are available on the city’s website at www.cityofalisoviejo.com. Applications are also available at City Hall, 12 Journey, Suite 100.

Snow Fest registration for Aliso Viejo residents starts Saturday

 

Registration for the city’s fun-filled Snow Fest begins for Aliso Viejo residents on Saturday, Dec. 15 at City Hall, 12 Journey. The popular event takes place on Jan. 26 at Grand Park in the Aliso Viejo Town Center.

More than 50 tons of snow will cover Grand Park to create a grand mountain, bunny slope and snow man park. Sleds are provided and tickets are only $5 per person. Children under 1 get in free.

Pre-registration is required and takes place for residents from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Registration continues Dec. 17-18 from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., if space is still available.
