Open House will showcase City facility perfect for holiday parties |
| The Aliso Conference Center will host a special Open House on Sunday, Oct. 14, giving the public a sneak peek of the facility that offers so much. The Open House is from 1 to 4 p.m. at the center that overlooks the golf course at 31 Santa Barbara Drive. The Conference Center will feature complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a glass of champagne that will be passed to guests strolling the venue, which is ideal for holiday parties, weddings, anniversaries and corporate and nonprofit events. Information about hosting an event at the facility and the center’s preferred vendors will be available. City of Aliso Viejo, Library team up to host ‘Read for the Record’ event Oct. 4 |
| Aliso Viejo kids will have a chance to help break a reading world record Oct. 4 as part of the national Jumpstart Read for the Record campaign. At 3:30 p.m., children are invited to read “Ladybug Girl & the Bug Squad” and enjoy fun activities at the Iglesia Park Community Center, hosted by the city of Aliso Viejo and the Aliso Viejo Library. The book, by David Soman and Jacky Davis, is in support of Jumpstart’s mission to work toward the day when every child enters school prepared to succeed. Through the national Read for the Record campaign, the goal is for folks across the nation to demand that all children receive the quality early education they deserve. The city of Aliso Viejo hosts this important and fun reading event each year at its Family Resource Center located inside the Iglesia Park Community Center, 24671 Via Iglesia.
