Special kick-off to Host Town Program of Special Olympics Oct. 29
The city of Mission Viejo was selected as a “Host Town” for the 2015 Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles. The city will be responsible for receiving up to 180 delegates from around the world from July 21-24 before they head to Los Angeles to compete. Mission Viejo will provide the athletes with transportation, lodging, food, practice facilities and cultural activities and events while they’re in town.
The Oct. 29 kick-off event will feature Ultimate Fighting Middleweight Championship Contender Mark Munoz, best known as the “Filipino Wrecking Machine” along with Olympic swimmer Carolyn Jones. Light refreshments will be served.
