The raffle drawing will be conducted by an independent, non VFW member.  With generous participation we should be able to meet our financial requirements for the entire year if not longer.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5868 covering Laguna Beach, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Hills and Aliso Viejo performs many services for all veterans and the communities.

Our members guide and assist veterans in obtaining VA benefits, provide when feasible transportation for immobile veterans, visit patients at the Long Beach Veterans Hospital, support boy and girl Scout organizations, make ourselves available for “we were there” sessions with students and many other services.

Several members are mentors at the renowned Orange County Combat Veterans Court in Santa Ana.  For the local communities we participate in parades, patriotic observances such as Memorial Day and, again, other services.

Active now for over 65 years, we have never had a recurring income resource.  Instead, we have been dependent on various fund raisers such as an annual Octoberfest, and various veteran-honoring socials. However, the limited income earned from these events is insufficient to keep us going.  We have become dependent, therefore, on donations such as the raffle meet our overhead expenses.

Contributions will help the Post to finally attain a solid financial footing.
