THE WEEKLY WOLVERINE
December 6 – 10, 2010
Administration
• This is Advisement/Registration Week!!
Students will be getting second semester registration materials from their English teachers Monday, Dec. 6th.
Teachers will be speaking with students about elective choices for second semester as well as the appropriateness of the current classes they are in. Students should discuss their second semester schedule with their parents sometime throughout the week.
Registration forms need to be signed by parents and returned to students’ English teachers on Monday, Dec. 13. Any forms turned in after the 13th should be turned in directly to the guidance office. Friday, Dec. 17th is the last day forms can be turned in without losing preference and priority for electives, zero period, ROP, or any other program. Any forms turned in after the 17th will be deemed late and will have last priority.
In order to balance class size and keep a wide variety of course offerings some students might have a class change periods or change teachers. This is an unfortunate necessity that we cannot prevent. These schedule changes are typically done by our computer and therefore random. We see this as the most fair way to make these changes and therefore not reverse them due to a parent or student request to keep their current schedule.
Academic advisors will be available December 7th and 8th at lunch in the library to answer any questions students have. Please have your students stop in during this time to get individualized advice from your academic advisor.
• Please help our school district qualify for future technology funding by filling out a brief survey. The survey can be found here and students, parents, and educators are all welcome to participate; our district’s secret word is “cusd”. Hurry, the survey expires on Friday, December 17!
• Need money for college? If you plan to attend any California college (2-year, 4-year, trade/technical, vocational), apply for a Cal Grant! Click here for more information. The final deadline is March 2, 2011 but you should begin now—Aliso Niguel does NOT submit GPA’s electronically so you must complete and mail in the paper application. The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) will also be available online beginning January 1, 2011.
