On this Wednesday, October 2nd you student will be bringing home a Federal Survey of Residence and Employment. We ask that you take a few minutes to fill this information out and have your student return the survey to their 3rd period teacher by Monday, October 7th. This survey is required by the state to provide additional funding to support qualified students. You should receive an email from School Loop with an attachment of the survey just in case your child forgets to bring it home. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
No School on Friday, October 4th. This is an Instructional Furlough day which means our teachers will be attending staff development workshops. Students DO NOT come to school. School offices will be closed.
We will have our scheduled “Friday Night Lights” Varsity football game vs. Saddleback Valley in the Wolverine Stadium. Gates open at 5:30pm and kick off is 7pm. We will be having a “PINK” out to support the “Find a Cure” Breast Cancer Awareness. Come out and support the Wolverines!
GUIDANCE / SENIOR INFORMATION
PSAT TESTING INFORMATION:
Students who still need to register for the PSAT test may do so on their student Marketplace or with Mrs. Nakazawa in the Activities Office. The activities office is open before school, passing, lunch and after school until 3pm. The cost of the test is $25.00. Cash or Check is accepted. Please make the check payable to ANHS. This test is open to students in grades 9-11th and is a practice SAT test. The test will be held on Saturday, October 19th here at school. The deadline to register has been extended to Monday, October 7th @ 3:00 pm. Practice test booklets are now available in Guidance. Do not wait, space is limited!
Math Tutoring available through Saddleback College After-School Experience program. After school mathematics tutoring for students enrolled in high school mathematics courses (Algebra through AP Calculus). Once enrolled, you may come as often as you want during the six week period. This is a drop-in program; no need to call ahead. Students from other secondary schools in CUSD are welcome. Aliso Niguel Baseball would like to invite you to our 1st Annual Golf Tournament & Social Monday, October 28th, 2013. The location will be Aliso Viejo Golf Club. Our Yearbook/Photo class is requesting donations of “gently used” digital cameras for the students to use. DSLR is preferred. If you have one you would like to donate please bring to our front office.
Have Aliso’s Growling Wolverine newspaper delivered to your home. Subscriptions are available for purchase on the school’s ANHS Marketplace under “Registration-a-la-carte”. $25 with ASB, $35 without.
PTSA
Membership Drive:
ANHS parents, students and staff please support ANHS PTSA through your membership. Your dues and donations have already been used to fund $4500 in classroom technology just since school started! It’s not too late to join and support areas such as teacher mini-grants, school improvements, parent education, and much more! Anyone can be a member- parents, family members, student, and staff. Membership is $12 for adult members and $6 for students and staff. Membership forms can be found in the front office or get one online here. You may drop off your completed forms along with payment in the front office or mail to ANHS PTSA, 28000 Wolverine Way, Aliso Viejo, CA 92656. Our next membership meeting is Wed. October 9th.
National PTA Reflections Program:
Consider participating in the National PTA’s Arts Recognition Program. This year’s theme is “Believe Dream, Inspire……” The Arts areas available include: Literature, Photography, Visual Arts, Musical Composition, Dance Choreography and Film Production. Divisions include Traditional Grade Divisions and Special Artist Division (for those with a disability as defined under the ADA). Information and forms are available in the Guidance Office or here.
