Ocean Institute Presents
Tidepool Terrors, October 30th & 31st
DANA POINT, CA, – The Ocean Institute will present Tidepool Terrors, its annual Halloween event, the weekend of October 30-31, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. each day. The weekend features trick-or-treating, listening to scary stories from a pirate ghost and making a creepy critter crafts.
Explore our spooky science labs including Tidepool Terrors (how tidepool creatures camouflage), Vampires of the Deep (deep-sea adaptations), and the Ghastly Goo Science Lab (ocean conservation). Cost is included with regular weekend admission price, which is $6.50 adults, $4.50 children (ages 4-12). Children in costume are free and eligible for the Kids’ Costume Contest. Prizes awarded for the Scariest, Best Ocean-Themed and Most Eco-Friendly costumes.
Founded in 1977, the Ocean Institute is a non-profit organization dedicated to ocean preservation through education, setting the standard for educational excellence and serving as a leading resource for universities, museums, teachers and all others seeking to increase their knowledge of the ocean. The Ocean Institute is open to the general public on weekends, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Cost: $6.50 adults, $4.50 children (ages 4-12), Ocean Institute members free. 2008 Business of the Year – The Dana Point Chamber of Commerce has selected the Ocean Institute as Dana Point’s “Business of the Year.” The award recognizes the positive contribution the Ocean Institute has made to the Dana Point community.
