Tim Martin, a 14-year Mission Viejo employee, has been named the 2015 Employee of the Year.
This outstanding employee will be recognized by the City Council for his efforts in February.
A longtime planner, Tim has gained the respect of community members and co-workers alike. He is responsible for helping the public with zoning, permitted uses, development code standards, design criteria and other processes. Tim processes permits through the Planning and Transportation Commission and Zoning Administrator and spends time researching current planning trends and legislation.
He is known for always providing citizens with excellent customer service and as a team player who volunteers to manage the most complex and challenging projects.
“Tim accepts responsibility for all of his actions, which are guided by his motivation to always do the right thing,” said his supervisor Larry Longenecker. “Tim’s integrity isn’t a choice, it is ingrained in him.”
Tim is the first Community Development employee to win the Employee of the Year award since the program’s inception in 1993.
“The City of Mission Viejo values all of Tim’s contributions as an employee and with this award, employees express their sincere appreciation for Tim’s dedication to the residents of the City of Mission Viejo,” said Senior Human Resources Analyst Monique Goetz.
