Parents and Players:
South Coast NJB will hold a tryout for the 4th grade spring/summer All-Net competitive boys basketball team. This team will play in the NJB All-Net (competitive level) series with games on Saturday afternoons in the spring and summer. In addition, the team will play in a select number of tournaments (2 or 3 based on parent schedules) during the summer.
The focus of this team is skills development. This is the first opportunity for boys to play competitive-level basketball and the South Coast NJB focus is on developing players who will be ready for high school basketball in their freshman year. The team is open to 4th grade boys in Laguna Niguel, Dana Point, San Juan Capistrano and San Clemente.
The team will be coached by Matt Beeuswaert. Matt is a former CIF player of the year, All-Pac 10 player, and European pro league veteran. He coaches a number of higher level club players and does personal training for high school and college players.
The tryout will be at San Juan Sports Park on FRIDAY NIGHT, MARCH 13 FROM 8 PM TO 9PM. We recognize that this is a late hour for 4th graders but it’s the only time we could get the gym this week. Practices will be in the afternoon or very early evening going forward. We will have a parent orientation meeting during the tryout that is mandatory. We will cover expenses, goals, schedules, parent conduct and player development. San Juan Sports Park is on Camino Del Avion near Del Obispo in San Juan.
