MANTA CONSTRUCTION COMING ALONG: Manta — a new launch coaster that seamlessly transitions riders from the awe of watching rays in underwater flight … into the sensation of actually being one —opens spring 2012 at SeaWorld San Diego. Construction is moving along and park guests can see 25 of the 98 sections of ride track already in place. Nine concrete trucks recently completed the walls for the new ray exhibit and the framing for the loading station is complete. Manta will inspire riders with amazing habitats featuring bat rays, plus takes them on an exhilarating coaster shaped like a giant manta ray.

Now when guests purchase a full-priced single day admission ticket ($73 ages 10 and older/$65 for children 3-9), they’ll get to return with their Fun Card until the end of 2012 again and again! SeaWorld has boatloads of reasons for every season to visit the marine-life park in 2012. Opening in the spring of 2012 is Manta, an amazing, immersive, new mega attraction that takes you deep into the world of rays. SeaWorld San Diego: Interstate 5, exit SeaWorld Drive. Turtle Reef, an interactive attraction featuring a 300,000-gallon turtle aquarium, interactive game, touch-screen turtle map and a new ride, is now open. SeaWorld’s all-new Shamu show “One Ocean,” features the park’s majestic killer whales as ambassadors of the sea, and the ocean as the center of our natural world. “Blue Horizons” is a spectacular show featuring energetic bottlenose dolphins, magnificent pilot whales, a colorful array of exotic birds and amazing human performers. The 189-acre marine-life park features thousands of fascinating mammals, fishes, reptiles and birds including; a dozen species of sharks at the Shark Encounter; more than 300 penguins representing five species at the Penguin Encounter; and polar bears, beluga whales and walruses at Wild Arctic.
