(Laguna Niguel, CA) – “Where in the World is God?” is the theme for the sixth annual Vacation Bible School (VBS) hosted by First Church of Christ, Scientist, Laguna Niguel in their Sunday School. Open to the entire community, this year’s VBS will be July 26-30.
This year’s theme is based on a passage from Luke, “Some Pharisees asked Jesus when God’s kingdom would come. He answered, “God’s kingdom isn’t something you can see. There is no use saying, `Look! Here it is’ or `Look! There it is.’ God’s kingdom is here with you.” (Contemporary English Version)
“Every day our students will hear about Bible characters in reference to the theme as it applies to their lives at home, school, activities and the environment,” explains Anne Cooling, VBS Director, “and then we plan activities to help teach what the Bible stories mean through singing, crafts and games. Snacks and fellowship are also always a big success with the children.”
Registration forms are available in the Christian Science Reading Room, located on the church property at 29012 Aloma Avenue, Laguna Niguel or online at the church’s website, www.cschurchln.org. The school caters to young children, ages 3 1/2 to sixth grade, with older children encouraged to be Junior Leaders. Each session runs from 9am through noon.
“Every year, we feel so blessed with all the good that comes from this experience,” added Cooling. “Our Mission Statement says it all, ‘To provide an annual opportunity for the children in our community to learn the joyous spiritual application of the Bible’.”
