Families, students, associations, clubs, religious groups, businesses and others are sought to help remove trash and debris from local trails and creeks during the Aliso Viejo Trails and Creek Clean-up event on Saturday, Sept. 15. The community-wide event is from 9 a.m. to noon, with registration taking place at the Aliso Viejo Ranch, located at 100 Park Avenue. The city of of Aliso Viejo is hosting the event along with support from Moulton Niguel Water District and CR&R. Cleaning the creeks and watersheds that drain to the ocean keeps trash and debris from ending up on local beaches. Doing so also helps to preserve the beauty of pristine trails and the community as a whole. Participants are encouraged to wear sunscreen and dress appropriately with hiking shoes, hats and gardening or work gloves. Complimentary refreshments and water will be available. For more information and to pre-register for the event, contact Mike Smith at 949-425-2535 or msmith@cityofalisoviejo.com. Kelly Tokarski |
