ADMINISTRATION
Winter Break starts December 23rd and there is no school for two weeks. There is also no school on Monday, January 6th, 2014. This is a Non-Student day. There will be teachers on campus attending a professional development day. Please do not send your student to campus until January 7th, 2014.
Enjoy the time with your family during the winter break. We will return to school with a 0-2-4-6 block day on Tuesday, January 7th, 2014.
GUIDANCE
Spring Semester Registration
Spring Registration forms are due today (Dec. 16) and should be signed and turned in to your child’s English teacher. If for some reason you cannot turn it in today there is a grace period through the end of the week (until Friday, Dec. 20)where you may turn in forms to the guidance office. Any forms received after this grace period will be given last priority for classes.
Please be aware that teachers and periods often change at the semester. This is due to movement of other students and the balancing of classes. We understand that this can be disappointing if you child gets moved out of their favorite teacher’s class, but realize we do our best to minimize this disruptive but inevitable process. If your child has any questions please have them come in to see their academic advisor.
Last Day to Drop a Class
Friday, December 20th is the last day to drop an extra class that is not needed to graduate. This is not a level down but a complete drop of the class. Freshmen and sophomores must keep a minimum of 6 classes and juniors and seniors must keep a minimum of 5 classes. Students should see their academic advisor before this date if they would like to take advantage of this option.
PSAT/PLAN SCORES BACK NIGHT –JANUARY 8TH 6:00 PM IN THE THEATER
Students who took the PSAT on October 19th or the PLAN test on November 16th, will receive their test results at our Scores Back Night. At this event we will have a presentation to explain these test results, what they mean, and how to improve your test scores. There will also be a chance to ask questions or get clarification about the college testing process. Parents and students encouraged to attend! We ask that you and your child arrive 15-30 minutes early to receive individualized test data. If you cannot attend this session, the power point presentation will be available online after this event.
**Students who cannot attend may pick your scores in the Guidance office, Thursday January 9th . Scores will NOT be mailed home.
ATHLETICS
Congratulations to the Girls Water Polo Team!
Our girls won the 24 team Santa Ana Valley Tournament played on December 6th and 7th. We defeated Sunny Hills 7-5 in the championship game. We are currently 8-1, and ranked 6th in Division IV CIF.
Girls Soccer:
Once again the girls varsity soccer team has reached the finals of the Aliso Cup soccer tournament. They are currently undefeated on the season and ranked #1 in Orange County. They take on Sunny Hills HS tonight at 5pm at the stadium.
SENIOR ACTIVITIES
The Senior Panoramic class photo will be this Wednesday, December 18th during tutorial in the Wolverine Stadium. Please wear a solid color, Seniors! Don’t miss it! Be part of the Legend!
Jostens will be on campus this Thursday, December 19th to take last minute orders for class rings, cap and gowns and tassel units.
Our rep will be in the main quad area, look for the Jostens tent. More information online jostens.com and select our school site.
