First female construction project manager to lead this year’s project
Dozens of women will pick up their tool belts at a Habitat for Humanity of Orange County build site in honor of International Women’s Day. From March 4–7, this group of women will help build affordable housing in Fullerton as part of National Women Build Week. Skilled construction workers will share their knowledge and skills with volunteers to help them navigate through the construction process. Each day, twelve women will use their newly gained skills to work as a team and find innovative approaches to build quality homes for Orange County families.

This week-long event created by Habitat’s Women Build program invites women to devote at least one day to help families build strength, stability and independence through housing. The crew of women will be guided through the build by Jaymie Fisher, the first female construction project manager at Habitat OC.

Women Build OC is a building club of women who believe in a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Habitat OC recruits, educates and inspires women to build and advocate for simple, decent and affordable housing in their communities. This Women Build Week is about empowering women so they can learn construction skills in a more supportive environment and grow the number of females in the building industry.
