Arizona Science Center to Host
Junior Model Builder Competition
In Honor of LEGOLAND® California’s
10th Birthday!
WHAT: LEGOLAND® California is partnering with Arizona Science Center to challenge young and old alike for a Junior Master Model Builder Competition on Wednesday, July 15. The competition is judged in three age categories: 9 and younger, 10 to 15 and 16 and older.
Guests of Arizona Science Center are welcome to build their birthday-themed model anytime between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., with a winner from each category to be announced at 4 p.m. All winners will receive a prize package valued at more than $300 that includes LEGO play materials, a 2-day family four-pack of Park Hopper tickets to both LEGOLAND California and SEA LIFE™ Aquarium and 1-night accommodations.
In honor of LEGOLAND California’s 10th birthday, the family theme park in Carlsbad, California is bringing the world’s largest LEGO birthday cake for guests of the Arizona Science Center to enjoy.

DETAILS: Guests of Arizona Science Center will be awed when they see the world’s largest LEGO birthday cake! The cake stands nearly 10-feet-tall, is made of more than 100,000 LEGO bricks and features mini replicas of some of LEGOLAND California’s most popular attractions.
The Junior Master Model Builder Competition is a building competition that takes place the second weekend of each month at LEGOLAND California. Participants are given a different theme each month and the winners of the monthly competitions compete in the Ultimate Build-Off on Saturday, January 9, 2010. The winners of the Arizona Science Center Junior Model Builder Competition will not only receive a LEGOLAND prize package, but they will be invited to participate in the Ultimate Build-Off and their winning models will be on display at LEGOLAND in the LEGO Club House for a full month.
For the July 15 Junior Master Model Builder Competition at Arizona Science Center, all LEGO bricks, base plates and build space will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis. For contest rules and details, visit azscience.org.
