The Mission Preservation Foundation is pleased to announce “Zorro Unmasked,” (© 2010 Zorro Productions, Inc., All Rights Reserved) the new temporary summer exhibit at Mission San Juan Capistrano on display from June 1 through August 31.

Working hand-in-hand with Zorro Productions, this unique exhibit showcasing the cinematic history of Zorro from past films and television shows will be on display at Orange County’s only mission. The exhibit will feature original costumes worn by actors Antonio Banderas and Catherine Zeta Jones from the 2005 film The Legend of Zorro. In addition, generations of filmgoers will enjoy viewing original film props and related items from the films of such stars as Douglas Fairbanks, Tyrone Power and Guy Williams. An array of related Zorro items from pop culture, film, television, magazines and books will also be on display for the public’s enjoyment. Zorro Productions is the world’s largest collector of Zorro memorabilia and are located in Berkeley, California.

The Mission’s Foundation hopes to draw visitors and members of all ages to enjoy a summer visit to the birthplace of Orange County, Mission San Juan Capistrano, and learn about this famed masked hero.

“Temporary exhibits like ‘Zorro Unmasked’ are being offered at the Mission to create renewable experiences for locals and members who are already familiar with the Mission, yet are seeking a local living history museum experience.” said Mechelle Lawrence-Adams.

Come and celebrate the Mission’s second traveling exhibit for a limited time only in the newly refurbished West Wing Building. The exhibit is free to members and daily viewing hours will be limited from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
