“To the world you are a MOTHER, but to your family you are the WORLD”. What as fantastic Mother’s Day Brunch today at the Mission Viejo / Saddleback Valley Elks under beautiful sunny skies.
MV Elks member Michelle Simmons (center) with mom Connie Watson (L) and Cyndy Walker (R), a member of the Parker, AZ Elks lodge
To start the day, member Megan Aguilar showed up promptly at 9am with 40 family members and friends and had a party-in-itself in our game room.
The buffet line was firing on all cylinders with ER Mike Long at the carving station
Then the buffet line was up and running with Loyal Knight, Jamie Camunas, building Belgium Waffles, ER Mike Long carving Prime Rib, Chef Ed Mackay hand-tossing pasta dishes, Kevin and Rick flipping gourmet omelets and other volunteers dishing bacon, sausage, Eggs Benedict, crepes filled with apples, scones, fresh fruit, fried potatoes and more. Yum! Plus, as the moms were welcomed to the lodge, each received a glass of champagne and a fresh carnation as a small token of appreciation on their day.
Chaplain Lane Keran’s daughter, Amy, welcomed the guests and gave moms a carnation
Thanks to our cooks that prepared our brunch, to buffet-line servers and all the volunteers that supported our event today. We cannot do it without you. And a huge thanks to Chaplain Lane Keran for his chairmanship of the event and to his wife, Kelly and daughter, Amy, for lending helping hands.
Larry, Mikaela, Cindy, Ruth and Cheshire had a great day at the lodge
