Bringing a new meaning to the term “protect and serve,” Orange County Sheriff’s Department personnel will volunteer as servers on Thursday, Sept. 10 to collect tips for the Special Olympics.
The department is teaming up with Romano’s Macaroni Grill to bring the “Tip-A-Cop” program to Aliso Viejo. Working with Macaroni Grill servers, uniformed Sheriff’s deputies will serve dinner from 4 to 8 p.m. at the eatery in Aliso Viejo Town Center.
Tip-A-Cop events are one of the main fundraisers for the Law Enforcement Torch Run, one of the largest fundraising arms of Special Olympics Southern California. The Special Olympics changes the lives of people with intellectual disabilities through sports training and competition.
Proceeds from the Sept. 10 event will benefit Special Olympics Orange County athletes.
Romano’s Macaroni Grill is located at 26641 Aliso Creek Road. For more information about the Tip-A-Cop fundraiser, contact Sgt. Ray Ulmer at 949-425-2564.
