Date:

City of Aliso Viejo
12 Journey
Aliso Viejo, CA 92656

From historic re-enactments and a world-champion baton twirler to a hip dance group and an acoustic rock band, the city’s 4th annual Founder’s Day Fair on Sept. 26 will feature a cornucopia of entertainment catering to all ages and tastes.

The annual fair, which takes place from noon to 6 p.m., transforms the 7-acre Aliso Viejo Ranch back to its California ranching roots with an old barn, bunkhouse and lots of history.

Along with a water balloon launch, games, demonstrations, gold panning, pony rides, tasty fare and much more, visitors will enjoy a bevy of entertainment. Here’s a sampling …

St. Mary’s & All Angles Drumline

St. Mary’s & All Angels Drumline features third to eighth grade students playing percussion. The students have performed at the Irvine Spectrum Center Arthritis Walk; Concordia College; Orange County Gladiators basketball games; the Drums Across California competitive circuit; Santa Margarita High School; and at the Aliso Viejo Fourth of July Celebration.

Delilah Jones Band

Featuring a quartet of talented performers offering an eclectic blend of rock, blues, folk and a little bluegrass, the Delilah Jones Band caters to music lovers of all ages.

Impulse Dance Production

Hip-hop, ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, Pilates, prima dance, ballroom and more is what IMPULSE Dance Productions (IDP) is all about. IDP is a commercial dance studio offering professional instruction and cutting-edge choreography from a diverse group of instructors.

The Wheeland Brothers is a four-piece band from Orange County that describes its music as acoustic beach rock and ukulele hip-hop. The group formed as an alternative rock band in 1999 and revamped its style nine years later, adopting the Wheeland Brothers name. Band songs range from reggae to folk to acoustic hip-hop and capture the Southern California beach culture.

Along with musical and dance productions, visitors will enjoy baton twirling by champion Alexa Wisener and the vocals of 15-year-old Karen Rayo singing the National Anthem.

Admission is free to the city’s Founder’s Day Fair. The Aliso Viejo Ranch is at 100 Park Avenue.

Information about Founder’s Day Fair is available on the city’s Web site at www.cityofalisoviejo.com.
