WHAT: The San Juan Capistrano Fiesta Association says good bye to the swallows and kicks off the 2009 – 2010 Fiesta de las Golondrinas season with a traditional barbecue dinner, live country western entertainment and elections for dignitaries including Miss Fiesta, Senor San Juan, Jr. Miss and Jr. Senior San Juan.

The park is at the end of Adelanto Street, behind the old Hot Springs
Dance Hall by City Hall. There will be plenty of free parking.
TICKETS: $10.00 (includes BBQ dinner and one beverage);
Beer and wine may be purchased separately from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
ATTIRE: Attire is casual and country western wear is encouraged.
BACKGROUND: The Fiesta Association held this event initially to say farewell to the swallows, but it now serves as the announcement of the grand marshal, election of the 2009 -2010 dignitaries and to launch the upcoming Fiesta de las Golondrinas events including the Swallows’ Day Parade & Mercado, Taste of San Juan, Kids’ Pet Parade, Fiesta Grande and La Presidenta Ball.
HIGHLIGHTS:
· Announcement of 2010 grand marshal and parade dignitaries
· Traditional, home made BBQ meal of tri-tip, “Rancho” beans, salad, tortillas and salsa
· Dancing to live country western music by Rick Robledo and the Working Cowboy Band
· Horseshoe tournament
