SANTA ANA, CALIF – The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Orange County/Inland Empire Chapter (LLS) is pleased to announce that Sindy Godfrey of Corona, named LLS’ Woman of the Year in 2009, will serve as leadership chair for the 2010 Man & Woman of the Year Campaign.
The 2010 campaign will begin in March; for 10 weeks, participating community and business leaders will raise money for blood cancer research. The top fundraisers will earn the titles of 2010 Man & Woman of the Year.
“Despite the challenges in the economy, we’re confident that we’ll recruit some outstanding candidates and make 2010 our best year ever,” commented Julia Cohen, the campaign’s manager.
“Incredible progress has been made in recent years in the fight against blood cancers, and the dollars they raise will help us keep up the momentum.”
Sindy Godfrey is owner of Events that Rock, the publicity and marketing firm that represents the Improv Comedy Clubs.
Her father died recently of leukemia; her nephew was recently diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. In 2009, she earned her Woman of the Year title by raising over $40,000.
