Elks Lodge Scouting Chair Dennis Lumley said, “This Lodge has supported troop 603 for over twenty years. The troop was in need of updated scouting equipment including tents, rope, camping stove, etc. The members of the Lodge are pleased to support an organization that helps young men to be future leaders and valuable citizens of our community.”
Chris Talamo, Boy Scout Troop 603 Scout Master stated, “Troop 603 is very grateful that the Mission Viejo Elks have supported us these many years. The gift of $2,000 will help the troop purchase much needed scouting equipment and continue the work of building character for the young men of this troop.”
The Mission Viejo / Saddleback Elks Lodge #2444 is one of ten lodges in the Orange Coast District of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (BPOE) whose headquarters is in Chicago , Illinois . The BPOE is a charitable organization with a 141 year history of giving, “Elks Care, Elks Share.” The BPOE has a long standing support structure for scouting programs.
