at Chavez High School
Unveil Interactive Art Installation
on the Julianne and George Argyros Plaza
Students from Círculos High School, Santa Ana Unified School District’s ground-breaking, non-traditional model high school, will unveil The World is Yours, an interactive, multimedia art installation on the Julianne and George Argyros Plaza at Segerstrom Center for the Arts on Friday, June 8 at 4:30 p.m.
The project is part of OC JUEGA (OC PLAY), offered through Segerstrom Center’s Center for Dance and Innovation. The 22 participating students are enrolled in Círculos (Circles), an XQ Super School located on the campus of Chavez High School, is one of 18 in the nation where place-based learning is integral to the education experience.
Students use community spaces as their “classroom” setting, and The World is Yours was created at Segerstrom Center and the Stacy Dukes Design Studio. The Center for Dance and Innovation supports Segerstrom Center’s flagship artistic programs while acting as a catalyst for initiatives that celebrate innovation and creativity. Center partnerships with the high-tech, biotech/entrepreneur community, and others offer the community new ways of engaging with the performing arts through a broad array of on-site and off-campus programs.
