The Ocean Institute in Dana Point expects another sold-out venue for its popular Jazz in January fundraiser, as tickets are limited and the entertainment is first rate. The two-day event, to be held January 29th and 30th, 2010, features epicurean cuisine, fine wines and the best from the world of jazz entertainment. Those wishing to attend either of the two days are urged to obtain tickets early, as Jazz in January has sold out well in advance for each of the seven previous years.
Headlining the musical weekend is two-time Emmy-nominated singer, songwriter and jazz guitarist, Jonathan Butler, who brings his unique talents to the stage in a dazzling display of inspiration and originality. Co-Chairing Jazz in January for the eighth time is Dana Point resident Tim McMahon, Senior Vice President, CB Richard Ellis/Retail, and Laguna Niguel resident Jens von Gierke, Principal & Founder of Wave Hospitality Advisors, LLC, who has been involved with the Ocean Institute for seven years.
A Complimentary Wine Reception and Concert Performance, limited to 270 guests, begins the festivities on Friday, January 29th, at the Ocean Institute, 24200 Dana Point Harbor Drive, in Dana Point. The Wine Reception is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., with the concert following from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $95.00 and $125.00.
Saturday, January 30th, is the Premiere Evening, accommodating 200 guests, and featuring a Gala Gourmet Dinner Show. The elegant, intimate affair begins with a Cocktail Reception and Silent Auction from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., followed by an award-winning, four-course dinner prepared by chefs from the St. Regis Resort Monarch Beach, The Laguna Cliffs Resort & Spa, The Montage Resort & Spa, Laguna Beach and The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel. “Get Jazzed” pricing, in effect through December 15th, is $425 per person, $5,100 for a table of 12, and $6,300 for a VIP table for 12. Prices after that date are $500 per person, $6,000 for a table for 12, and $7,200 for a VIP table for 12.
