Mama’s on 39, the popular Huntington Beach-based eatery will celebrate the grand opening of its second location – Mama’s Comfort Food & Cocktails – in Los Alamitos on Wednesday, June 27.
The successful “comfort food and cocktails” concept is replacing the former Mighty Kitchen restaurant location at 11122 Los Alamitos Blvd. The restaurant will open daily at 8:30 a.m.
Launched by Mama’s partners Pete Truxaw and Robert Corrigan, “Mama’s Comfort Food & Cocktails” will feature the same uniquely diverse menu and full bar offerings as the 7-year-old Huntington Beach location.

“We are extremely excited to open our second Mama’s location in such a dynamic market that is Los Alamitos,” said Pete Truxaw. “The local marketplace is a perfect match for our community-driven comfort food concept.” Besides featuring an all-day-everyday menu with more than 100 selections of breakfast, lunch and dinner items available, the restaurant offers a full bar, an ever-evolving eclectic California-inspired wine list and 20 tap beers featuring an array of local craft breweries. Mama’s also serves a wide variety of Thrifty Ice Cream flavors by the scoop in their iconic Thrifty Ice Cream dipping cabinet.
The original Mama’s on 39 opened at 21022 Beach Blvd. (Highway 39) in 2011 and continues to thrive with locals and Orange County foodies alike.
