Upcoming Application Deadlines for High School and
Returning College Students
The Orange County Community Foundation recently launched online scholarship applications for the more than 80 scholarship programs it offers to Orange County high school and college students, made possible by funds established by generous donors who have a commitment to higher education.
The new site matches applicants to scholarship opportunities based on specific criteria such as their school, major and extracurricular activities. Coinciding with the debut of the environmentally-friendly scholarship applications are February and March deadlines for most of the Foundation’s 2010 scholarships.
In fiscal year 2009, the Orange County Community Foundation awarded over 300 scholarships totaling more than $600,000 to help students pay for tuition, books and fees. Most scholarships administered by the Community Foundation are available only to students in Orange County, California, however there are a few exceptions.
The AVID Scholarship Application is open to active participants in the Achievement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program at their high school. Application deadline: February 4, 2010.
The Hispanic Education Endowment Fund (HEEF) Scholarship Application will match applicants to scholarships available to Hispanic students in Orange County. Application deadline: February 26, 2010.
The High School Student Scholarship Application will match applicants to all OCCF scholarships available to high school students. Application deadline: March 15, 2010, except the Brad Evans Scholarship Application, deadline: April 30, 2010.
The Scholarship Application for Current College Students, Returning College Students and Renewal Applicants will match applicants to all OCCF scholarships available to college students. Application deadline: March 15, 2010.
