The Ocean Institute held its 2010 Girls in Ocean Science Teen Conference on February 6, which offered teens an opportunity to enjoy presentations by female ocean scientists and prompt them to consider careers in the sciences. The girls were introduced to careers in ocean conservation, marine biology and ecology, scientific journalism, underwater archeology, oceanography, and education.
