Laguna Playhouse is thrilled to present a very special theatrical concert event, I DIG ROCK AND ROLL MUSIC, co-conceived by James O’Neil, George Grove and Dan Wheetman, musical arrangements by George Grove, musical direction by Trevor Wheetman and directed by James O’Neil (Lonesome Traveler), for one week only, September 19 through September 23 at the Laguna Playhouse, 606 Laguna Canyon Road in Laguna Beach.
Comments Artistic Director Ann E. Wareham, “Of all of the shows I have produced here at Laguna Playhouse, Lonesome Traveler holds some of my most favorite memories and I have been looking forward to this long-awaited “sequel,” of sorts and look forward to sharing this special show with our audiences.
Comments Executive Director Ellen Richard, “These songs, this music, speaks to all generations and there is simply no better time to bring this new work to our stage than now.”
This exhilarating theatrical concert picks up where Lonesome Traveler left off. This concert features songs of protest and passion – moving us beyond the moment when Dylan picked up the electric guitar at Newport in ’65 and into the early ‘80s, with songs by Peter, Paul and Mary; Joni Mitchell; Judy Collins; The Eagles; James Taylor; Crosby, Stills and Nash; Simon and Garfunkel; with original songs by the cast and Noel Paul Stookey. If you dig rock and roll music, don’t miss this thrilling new event!
