There’s lots to celebrate this October on the Julianne and George Argyros Plaza.
With a new season, comes new performances live on the Argyros Stage. This month the Center highlights
local female singers in support of Beautiful – The Carole King Musical playing in Segerstrom Hall. Three
soulful women – Devan M., Maria Schafer, and Sophia Dion – will entertain audiences as they relax on the
Argyros Plaza.

Fall for All! on Saturday, October 27 celebrates the one-year anniversary of the Julianne and George
Argyros Plaza! With more than 43,000 people attending over 125 performances in its first year and voted
“Best Community Performance Venue” by Orange Coast Magazine, the Argyros Plaza has become a
gathering place for the Orange County community.
Give Back: Leading up to Veterans Day, the Center is collecting travel-sized items to include in 150 care
packages for members of our military. Help us reach our goal by donating a travel-sized shampoo bottle in
person at our All Abilities Celebration then join us at the 3rd Annual Center Salutes Our Veterans on
November 11 to assemble a care package for a soldier in need!

Join us before Beautiful – The Carole King Musical on the Julianne and George Argyros Plaza for a free
outdoor performance by soulful singer Maria Schafer. After spending two years traveling the world with The
Glenn Miller Orchestra, young and captivating singer Maria Schafer has quickly resumed her place in the LA
music scene as an ever-growing and fascinating artist to watch. With carefully crafted originals and modern
arrangements of jazz and world music, listeners are welcomed with intimate and moving performances
peppered with palpable musical chemistry. Her quartet’s energetic charm of dreamy guitar, driving drums, and
dancing bass create a warm sonic bed for entrancingly smooth vocals and weighted lyrical delivery.

Enjoy more soulful, Southern California sounds before Beautiful – The Carole King Musical on the Julianne
and George Argyros Plaza with a free outdoor performance by singer-songwriter Sophia Dion. From the
Sundance Film Festival to the KAABOO Discovery Tour, Dion thrills audiences with mellow lyrics and soulful
guitar riffs. Drawing inspiration from musicians Joss Stone and KT Tunstall, Dion recently garnered an
audition for Season 14 of NBC’s “The Voice.” Sophia Dion’s indie-pop lyrics and soulful guitar riffs
encouraged Acoustic Guitar Magazine to name her as an up-and-coming female artist to watch in 2017.
First Anniversary Celebration: Fall for All!

Fall for All! celebrates the Julianne and George Argyros Plaza’s first anniversary. Fall for All! is free for all,
and features engaging performances, festive activities, and friendly appearances from Journeys to the Past,
Makara Center for the Arts, El Centro Cultural de México, Kia, OC Parks, and more! Kick up your boots with
line dancing lessons, visit our face painting station and pop-up bookshop, then find your way through our
giant maze. Show us your best moves and end this festive celebration dancing the night away with Salsa DJ
Ceazs Hernandez. Costumes are encouraged! It’s all for fun and fun for ALL!
Segerstrom Center is a leader among the nation’s performing arts centers for providing education programs
