Help Keep PEP4U Therapy Gym Going Strong – Rock and Roll Charity Benefit Nov. 10

Date:

What is PEP4U and Why Is It So Important?

Recent research has shown that REGULAR, FREQUENT, VIGOROUS EXERCISE improves people with Parkinson’s (PWP) movement control and slows progression of the disease.  THAT is what was behind the emergence of the Parkinsons Exercise Program for Wellness (PEP4U)!

The primary mover and organizer of the program is Jacqueline Grossman Massing, a determined 83 year-young author/sculptor/Holocaust survivor/Organizationalconsultant/ Parkinsons Caregiver who began her campaign for a FREE Parkinsons gym in November 2013.  “I don’t want anyone who needs our gym to be deprived of its benefits because they can’t or don’t want to pay gym fees,” declares Jacqueline.

“That’s why I asked for help from the National Parkinson Foundation of O.C..  And now that PEP4U is officially a non-profit tax-exempt charity under IRS 501(c)(3), we’re able to meet most of our gym expenses from private donations.”  In the future, grants will be sought as well.

PEP4U gym had its grand opening in April 2014 at 125A Columbia in Aliso Viejo.  With help from its new Coordinator, Marci Nail–an undaunted ‘Young Onset PD’ mother of four who knows how to get things done–professionally-supervised exercise sessions are now held several days a week.  A steering committee of Therapists, Neurologists, and other professionals provide guidance. “In time, we hope to have satellite gyms all over the County.” Say, Jacqueline and Marci.

PEP4U GYM is the very 1st, Non-Profit 501(c)(3) gym exclusively for people with Parkinson’s Disease (PWP) located in South Orange County, CA. Our facility is 100% FREE to PWP. Please visit us on Facebook for more information and see what we are doing at the gym!!

What Can I Do to Help?

Give it some thought and help spread the word!  Most of us know someone with PD who could benefit from our gym.  Help that person by donating, being a sponsor or becoming an “Angel Protector.”  Remember, all gifts are tax-deductible.
