Congratulations to all the students who participated, especially the parents!
Special recognition goes to Christine Hougan, Linda Sadeghi and Valerie Simonson. Way to go, moms!
Let’s face it, the amount, frequency, and gusto with which this competition has provoked would amount to naught if it weren’t for the active support of all the parents who encouraged, cajoled and prodded their kids to recycling greatness.
Plus, collecting, loading and hauling around mountains of trash bags in one’s car in front of one’s neighbors takes a parent with a healthy dose of self-esteem.

Results for Week 13 of 13, 2/4/10

For the 13th and last week of fall recycling, AVMS sent in a whopping 148 lbs. Yes, this last competitive push by the front runners in the race filled the container to the brim. It took all the muscles of the parent helpers to squeeze the mountains of recycling bags and push the doors close. The container was picked up and sent to the recycling center and AVMS received a check for almost $1,300. Well done, AVMS!!!
