The competitive team from Olympica Gymnastics in Laguna Hills had an awesome season-opening meet at the California Grand Invitational in Anaheim this past weekend. Taking a total of fifteen podium finishes, these gymnasts dominated the floor exercise event and also received awards on beam, bars and All Around.

Level 8 gymnast, Kaitlyn Driessen (Rancho Mission Viejo), took home first place on floor with a 9.575, third on beam (9.350), third on bars (9.175), and was the all-around champion (36.800) in the Junior division. Teammate Julia Rojas of San Clemente took second place on bars with a 9.500 and tied for second place on floor also with a 9.500.Cameron Craycraft of Ladera Ranch took second place on floor with a 9.725 in the Level 7 Junior division.

The Level 6 team had great success. Madelyn Snedeker (San Clemente) was the floor exercise (9.775) and beam (9.875) champion in her division. Kylie Phillips of Laguna Niguel tied for second on floor with a 9.550. In the Level 6 Junior division, teammates Bela Block (Aliso Viejo) and Kirra Schmitt (San Clemente) were co-champions on floor exercise with a score of 9.425. Addison Malue of Mission Viejo took third on floor with a 9.400, third on beam (9.450), and third all-around with a score of 36.625.

The next competition for these gymnasts is the San Diego Classic the weekend of January 26-27.
