The Parks and Recreation Department organizes and hosts a variety of special events throughout the year for all ages and varying interests including parades, summer concerts, movie nights, and other family-friendly events. MLB Pitch, Hit & Run
Sunday, March 18
12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Pitch, Hit & Run is an exciting baseball and softball skills competition which provides boys and girls, ages 7 to 14, an opportunity to showcase their pitching, hitting and running abilities. Boys and girls will compete separately in four age groups: 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14. Top scorers in each age group advance to a
Sectional Competition, with the possibility of competing in the Pitch, Hit & Run National Finals to take place during the 2018 ALL-STAR WEEK in Washington, D.C. Registration forms are provided at  the event.

Bunny Bonanza
Saturday, April 13
9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The Easter Bunny will also be hopping around so bring your camera for a photo opportunity!  Bunny Bonanza will feature activities such as:

  • Crafts
  • Games
  • Face Painting
  • Entertainment
  • Instructor Showcase – meet the Parks and Recreation class instructors
  • “Touch a Truck” – kids will get to climb, work on and “drive” a fun work truck, including trash, fire, and Sheriff’s Department.

Please note that there will not be an egg hunt at this event. Activities may be canceled if it rains on the event day. Please call the Recreation for event updates at (949) 425-5100. No dogs or smoking allowed in the event area.

Earth Day Celebration
Saturday, April 21
8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

“Go Green” and volunteer to plant, weed and clean up the Niguel Botanical Preserve. Celebrate Earth Day by giving your time to improve the landscaping in our 18-acre preserve. Volunteers should wear old clothes, closed toed shoes, and be prepared to work in the soil! Drinking water and a light snack provided. Reserve your spot at Registration@CityofLagunaNiguel.org by April 20.
